Profile of the Founder
Joanna was born and grew up in Salvador de Bahia in Brazil. When she was 8 years old, her family left Brazil and lived in Belgium for one year, before settling in Essex in the south-east of England. Consequently, Joanna is very familiar with expatriation and impatriation and has acquired an in-depth understanding of multiculturalism thanks to her adopted countries and also her family. Her father is Indian, her mother Belgian and her extended family is spread out all over the world. After graduating from university in 1995, Joanna moved to France and now lives in the western suburbs of Paris with her husband and two children.
From a professional standpoint, Joanna's career can be summarised in three key words: knowledge-transfer, support and empowerment.
She began as a corporate English trainer, went on to work in different HR fields before finally taking on the position of HR Manager in a language school of 150 employees. After being made redundant in 2012, Joanna decided to resume her studies and completed a Master's degree in International HR and International Mobility. Her specialist subject was diversity management which she developed by working as project manager for the Women@Work initiative in a multinational company and by writing a professional thesis on the subject.
In 2014, she decided to set up her own coaching and training consultancy firm, with the aim of helping women and men achieve professional goals and fulfilment and supporting companies in gender diversity, intergenerational cooperation and intercultural management.
